This species of orchid grows under trees as opposed to on trees, and is endemic to Java, Sumatra, Sulawesi and Borneo. It was first described by a guy called Friedrich Kraenzlin in 1893. The flowers last a few weeks and when they die off the plant goes dormant and looks like its dying.
